Re:Enough is enough
We're so terrible that (approximately) everybody wants to come here
And with that statement I can tell that you have never been outside of your little America-centric bubble.
I've lived in multiple countries around the world and the sentiment of most is that they simply don't think about or care about the United States at all. I know you'll remain in denial about it, what with your delicate egos, but it's the truth.
You merely prove my point. It's an objective reality that has roiled our country for many decades, yet people like you say what you do. Hence, funny

Not when Communist propaganda has infiltrated more than 100 US colleges. Dude! China is pushing the Communist / Orwellian narrative HARD! They will blow ostensibly trillions of yuan to drown all of humanity in it!!!

Re: DUH
Hillary Clinton hired a foreign worker herself, and I don't remember you ranting about that... Not that you should have, because it is NOT illegal to hire overseas contractors, but it IS illegal to accept overseas contributions as Obama did, not to mention the Obama campaign was fined for illegal donations.

Re: As Hollywood has taken over?
Your generation has ruined enough..
I agree entirely. Considering a bunch of high school kids in Florida have been able to accomplish in a few weeks something the four generations before them have not been able to, I'd say that anyone over 19 needs to get out the fucking way. The kids are all right.
http://www.orlandosentinel.com...
I agree, giving guns to teachers is a major accomplishment generations before them were not able to. Perhaps the next school shooting will be stopped by armed teachers instead of cops who stand outside and do nothing http://m.washingtonexaminer.co...

Re:Traitor in chief?
Or maybe in one year Trump has already taken more action against the Russians than occurred during the entire Obama Administration? Action, not talking tough.
Did you miss the couple hundred Russian mercenaries U.S. forces destroyed in Syria recently?
What's your evidence the Russians "hacked the election"? Even the NY Times doesn't believe that, and they'll believe just about anything related to Trump.
-
Re:We'd have to respond
Except Trump's actions have been harder on Russia than Obama's.
Obama was all talk, but not much action, compared to Trump.
Next you'll be claiming Obama defeated ISIS and the Trump Administration never did anything against them.

No, you're off by more than thirty years. Might want to read up a bit. Or read up at all.

This Muller
Story where FBI says Gen. Flynn didn't lie to the FBI. He was pressured into admitting guilt after running out of money and then Muller threatening to prosecute his son as well.
All the while Muller had exculpatory evidence proving Flynn wasn't guilty of what he was being charged with. Flynn's plea deal had in it that Muller would not provide him with any additional evidence (including the exculpatory evidence). Muller then asked for the charging to come AFTER the IG report into FBI misdeeds, afraid the IG would find the exculpatory evidence that was withheld from Flynn.
Is this the Muller that charged Manifort? Yea, I'll have to pass on believing this. Muller, IN THIS INVESTIGATION, has committed multiple felonies. He also shielded Stroke from any possible charges when he committed a felony leaking to the WP, dismissing him and not reporting the felony.
Not really sure why Muller thinks running a bad prosecution will end up good for him. He has a history of it. Look at the Anthrax doctor, what REALLY happened with Martha Stewart, and the rest of his history. The judges know he is corrupt as hell as well.

Re:I wonder if this will cause a fork?
The Republican one was obviously fair, otherwise they wouldn't have had Trump. They should have rigged the primary like the Democrats did. Then they would have gotten an acceptable Establishment candidate, and no matter who won, the Establishment's needs would be first with our own a distant priority. "The election of Donald Trump was an assault on the federal bureaucracy" Oh boo hoo those pricks finally get a taste of what it's like for the rest of us.

Re:Avoid the USA for the time being.
Are you seriously aligning the interests of the globalists in the US government with the interests of the American people? We had fuck-all to do with that coup shit. Hell, the CIA did a lot of those on its own while trying to hide its involvement from the elected government. This isn't a conspiracy theory, it's established fact.
The solution, however, is not to turn away from friends and alliances which have been built up for more than half a century.
Gotta love that attitude. FUCK YOU USA and then turn right around and DON'T LEAVE USA YOU FUCKING ISOLATIONIST ASSHOLES. Jesus Christ, you really can't see it, can you?
building fucking walls never solved any problem ever
If walls don't work, then why did Zuckerberg build one? Heck, even Obama builds a wall, I wonder what kind of problem he had? I guess the wall solved it!

FBI - busted!!! Dems upset!
The FBI has been busted - running interference for Hillary!
House Intelligence memo released: What it says
* The Steele dossier formed an essential part of the initial and all three renewal FISA applications against Carter Page.
* Andrew McCabe confirmed that no FISA warrant would have been sought from the FISA Court without the Steele dossier information.
* The political origins of the Steele dossier were known to senior DOJ and FBI officials, but excluded from the FISA applications.
* DOJ official Bruce Ohr met with Steele beginning in the summer of 2016 and relayed to DOJ information about Steele's bias. Steele told Ohr that he, Steele, was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected president and was passionate about him not becoming president.
The FBI and Justice Department mounted a monthslong effort to keep the information outlined in the memo out of the House Intelligence Committee's hands. Only the threat of contempt charges and other forms of pressure forced the FBI and Justice to give up the material.
Once Intelligence Committee leaders and staff compiled some of that information into the memo, the FBI and Justice Department, supported by Capitol Hill Democrats, mounted a ferocious campaign of opposition, saying release of the memo would endanger national security and the rule of law.
Per the Onion:
FBI Warns Republican Memo Could Undermine Faith In Massive, Unaccountable Government Secret Agencies
WASHINGTON—Stressing that such an action would be highly reckless, FBI Director Christopher Wray warned Thursday that releasing the “Nunes Memo” could potentially undermine faith in the massive, unaccountable government secret agencies of the United States. “Making this memo public will almost certainly impede our ability to conduct clandestine activities operating outside any legal or judicial system on an international scale,” said Wray, noting that it was essential that mutual trust exist between the American people and the vast, mysterious cabal given free rein to use any tactics necessary to conduct surveillance on U.S. citizens or subvert religious and political groups. “If we take away the people’s faith in this shadowy monolith exempt from any consequences, all that’s left is an extensive network of rogue, unelected intelligence officers carrying out extrajudicial missions for a variety of subjective, and occasionally personal, reasons.” At press time, Wray confirmed the massive, unaccountable government secret agencies were unaware of any wrongdoing for violating constitutional rights.

That is three, out of over 100.... the original claim was "every" company giving bonuses was doing layoffs.
So, #FakeNews (aka Bullshit)
That list was before Apple too. Looks like the wave continues, and Apple alone is hiring 200k people over the next five years. Again when you say "every" company is doing layoffs in the very story where the company giving bonuses is hiring... well, #FakeNews.
Thanks Trump! (I added that last part just for you to enjoy).
Fair enough, but remember who to thank when we have to pay for all this "free money."

Actually unemployment claims are at a 44 year low...
As you say - leading indicator.
I'm not upset. I'm actually rooting for a repeat of 2001 and 2008. Nothing nicer than buying a Trumpkin's home at auction
You mean the ones that bought stock after Trump got elected and are living the good life now? Yeah I guess they might be selling the house for a hefty profit and move into something larger, probably not at Christies though... not that you could afford anything a Trump supporter would deign to sell you.

Re:I like paper ballot
http://www.washingtonexaminer....
There are instances of illegals voting and dead people voting. How pervasive is it? We don't know, because the government simply doesn't investigate it post-election. Even when Trump wanted to investigate it, the states circled the wagons and did everything they can to prevent a comprehensive investigation. -

Re:Some societies need a strong man...
Oh, you mean the "destabilization" that removed 98% of ISIS' territory out from under them (and dropped their fighters' numbers from a peak of 40k to less than 1k or so) starting when you-know-who took office and stopped micromanaging the whole affair from his desk?
The tipping point in the more than three-year war was the defeat of ISIS in its self-proclaimed capital in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul,
the destruction of the ISIS caliphate was a validation of the Obama strategy of working âoeby, with, and throughâ partner forces,
So IOW, that stuff was going to happen anyway, and Obama's strategy was the correct one. That some generals say "we're glad nobody is checking up on us" does not prove that this is what helped us get these wins against ISIS. In fact, that was Obama's doing, by choosing a correct strategy that eventually paid dividends. So that's one for Obama.
Or maybe you meant the fact that Iraq is once again becoming stable after a certain previous president pulled out too early (on a massively flimsy excuse)?
We destabilized Iraq under Bush by forced segregation of communities which were peacefully coexisting for the first time in decades without our influence.
Oh, maybe you meant the massive anti-Wahhabist royal purge/shakeup that recently occurred in Saudi Arabia after the rest of the royalty there realized that they're actually being watched and held accountable by the US,
But they aren't. Remember how the hijackers came from Saudi Arabia? Remember how Trump didn't bother to put Saudi Arabia on any of his no-fly lists, because oil money? The US is not doing the things you imagine.
Perhaps you meant the impending removal of funding and support from Iran... you know, the folks who were busy finding Hezbollah and trying to make nukes in spite of promising on their bestest behavior not to?
How quickly you forget that we created this situation.
Or could it be the fact that most of OPEC finally realized that they're no longer the petrol-soaked king-makers when it comes to geopolitcal affairs, and has to start playing nice with the rest of the planet?
Well, no. No it couldn't. But even if it were, that would have jack to do with Trump, and everything to do with additional sources of oil being exploited, which long predated his presidency.
The time to indulge this half-century-long aberrant behavior by various grudge groups in the ME is over, 'mano. By all appearances, they're realizing it fast and adjusting accordingly (c.f. Dubai)... so I doubt the old rules of analyzing the ME from left-wing eyes will apply for much longer.
Dubai is still one of the foremost abusers of human rights on the planet, and a center for slavery. But that's okay with your kind, I'm sure.

Re:CNN: Strong jobs report: Unemployment rate 17y
Trump's got very little done legislatively except for the corporation tax cut. More regulations have been repealed than have been passed
http://www.washingtonexaminer....
Which demonstrates that if you do little except cut taxes and deregulate, the US economy will tend to pick up speed.
And look at Apple. They've just paid Ireland what the EU demanded they pay, even though Ireland didn't want it
http://www.zdnet.com/google-am...
If the EU forces countries like Ireland to charge more tax, and Trump cuts corporate taxes in the US while bullying companies to invest, there's an argument that companies like Apple might decide to move some cash back. E.g. this sort of deal
http://www.businessinsider.com...
But even in this context, Apple backing a big manufacturing plant could be a significant political win for Trump. Foxconn's display plant could create 30,000 to 50,000 jobs in the US, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Apple has 80,000 US-based employees.
Where could Foxconn build factories in the US? It depends on which states give Foxconn the best incentives. Pennsylvania seems to be in the lead for either a "molding facility" or the display plant. A trade official from Pennsylvania was at Foxconn's holiday party, Nikkei reported.
"I have to tell other states to hurry up or we'll go ahead and sign with Pennsylvania," Gou said.
Tim Cook could virtue signal about how he's creating US jobs. Apple and Foxconn would get given an Ireland like tax deal by the state and federal government.
Purists will say this is rather unorthodox economics - basically Trump bulled Cook into doing it and arranged for tax breaks. Still that's the way business works, why shouldn't government?
-
Are these elected officials?
I wonder, are any of these people elected? Do they think that they owe any allegiance to the elected US government, seeing that it changes all the time? And when the elected government tries to control them, they hiss and threaten to strike back. If they don't think they should be under the control of the elected government, what's to stop them from doing any damn thing they please?

Newsies: It was AT&T's idea. Admin was oppos
The Washington Examiner says:
* The suggestion came from AT&T.
* The justice department was against it.I know it's easy to assume Trump would use the powers of the executive branch to punish his enemies. After all, that's what the Democrats have been doing for years now - and getting caught from time to time. So it's easy to assume the other side would act the same way.
But, so far, The Donald doesn't seem to be stooping so low.

Re:That's Crazy
On the one hand, CNN is useful for Trump because they're his biggest (unwitting) allies in his war against the media. On his own he could never damage them as much as they damage himself. All he has to do is egg them on every now and then with a tweet or two.
On the other hand, CNN is anything but alone in this position, so they're expendable in that regard.
Fun fact: Only 33% of CNN's own viewers trust CNN. (as of january anyway)

Re:What is getting "stirred up"?
While I agree with your general sentiment, if you look at the details of this specific issue it was actually pretty nefarious. The summary comes nowhere near describing what actually happened.
The Russian trolls tried to get people out for a demonstration by a (fake) group called "Heart of Texas" and ALSO to get other people out for a demonstration by a (fake) group called "United Muslims of America". At the same time. At the same place. In front of an Islamic center.
Here's an article with a lot more details about it (first hit that came up on a search): http://www.washingtonexaminer....
It shouldn't take much imagination, regardless of your political inclination, to see that this was an attempt to destabilize American society. It's also not hard to imagine that this will be a continuing threat. It actually reminds me of this Twilight Episode: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

Previous investigation a whitewash
A common meme is: "The Republicans already tried to look into this and couldn't make anything stick. So clearly Hillary Clinton was innocent and the Republicans are just digging for dirt and hoping to find something." Variations on this have already been posted in this discussion.
What's extraordinary here is that the Director of the FBI intervened personally on Hillary Clinton's behalf. He wrote a draft of his speech exonerating her before the FBI ever interviewed her. Her aides were given broad immunity, which is usually used to compel people to talk[1], but then they were allowed to just say things like "I don't remember". Hillary Clinton, or someone working for her, wiped her email server after a subpoena was issued requiring her to hand it over to Congress, and there were absolutely no consequences from that. A usual FBI investigation would collect as much evidence as possible as early as possible, but that wasn't done in this case... the Anthony Weiner/Huma Abedin copies of Hillary Clinton emails were found during an investigation of Weiner, but they should have been found earlier. When the FBI is actually investigating they are thorough about collecting evidence. They should have grabbed every computer Hillary ever touched, and as Huma Abedin was an aide to Hillary, every computer Huma ever touched. (They could have copied the hard disks and given the computers back right away.)
Most extraordinary of all: the Director of the FBI claimed that "no reasonable prosecutor" would prosecute Hillary Clinton as no proof of ill intent was found, yet the laws she broke do not require intent but only require proof of mishandling of data.
...prosecutors are not required to prove motive. [...] Clinton could have been prosecuted either for willfully mishandling classified information or for doing so through gross negligence.
Consider what happened to David Petraeus. He was guilty, but what he did wasn't even a tenth as serious as what Hillary Clinton did. But the Director of the FBI didn't whitewash the investigation for him, so his career was over. (By the way, he didn't go to prison, so he still got better treatment than the "little people" would get. Consider the case of Bryan H. Nishimura. I would say that what Nishimura did wasn't even a thousandth as serious as what Hillary Clinton did, but he was treated much more harshly than she was. Note that he wasn't charged with any "intent", just the mishandling of data.)
I'm pretty sure that if a member of the Trump administration mishandles classified data, he or she won't get the special treatment that Hillary Clinton got. But the Democrats will get a President elected again sometime in the future and I would like to get a precedent established that the laws apply to Democrats as much as to Trump and his staff. I know that the law is not enforced perfectly even-handedly in this country (or any country in the real world) but I am appalled at the epic whitewashing done on behalf of Hillary Clinton to protect
-
Re:First post
Give her a break. She needed the money to replace the furniture she stole from the government (again) and is going to have to return soon (again).
Hillary Clinton and her staff removed "lamps and furniture" from State Department offices and brought them to her home in the early months of her tenure, the FBI said in 100 pages of notes made public Monday.

Re:The key is not getting caught
If you really want the truth about the activities of the Clintons and their various similarly named foundations, start with the investigations by Charles Ortel, then check out the actual claimed accomplishments of the Clinton Global Initiative. The Haitians are either ungrateful or have a legitimate beef with the Clintons, you decide.
If you haven't decided to ignore all of that because it causes cognitive dissonance for you, feel free to dig a little further. The list of organizations set up by the Clintons to accept money and distribute it is long. Don't forget about the CGI and related orgs, the William J. Clinton foundation, not to be confused with the William Jefferson Clinton Foundation, and see if any of the tax filings actually make sense. Some have pointed out that filings in different states or countries actually contradict each other. Donations have been listed that pre-date the formation of some of the organizations.
It's for charity???

Re:Racial profiling
A converted Muslim, recruited by ISIS.
From your own article:
Yet the FBI later said it determined the shooter has "no connection with an international terrorist group."
The initial claim was based on a report from SITE Intel Group, which said the terror organization claimed responsibility through its Amaq news agency, although ISIS has yet to offer proof of its claim.
ISIS has falsely claimed responsibility for attacks in the past, including a June attack at a casino in the Philippines that left 37 people dead. Police denied the incident was terror-related despite ISIS's claim, and said it was instead perpetrated by a 42-year-old man who had a gambling problem and was in debt.
Sorry dude, you got nothing.

Re:Who?
It's bad enough that Trump's lawyer admits he has documents related to Russia in his safe.
The people who joined Mueller's team wouldn't join unless he had something very compelling. Add the fact that the NY AG is also involved so Trump can't just pardon anyone like a get out of jail free card. Mueller is going after Trump and co on multiple fronts, both from the Russian investigation side as well as RICO and tax evasion. Trump's current legal team are like the keystone cops. All the competent lawyers have quit in frustration over the fact that Trump won't take their advice and/or pay them.
Also, don't forget Felix Sater who is singing like a canary. Sater was involved in numerous Trump business dealings. The fact that it wasn't disclosed at the time that Sater was a convicted felon to the other parties is also highly illegal.

How is this any worse than domestic propaganda?
I see fake news on TV all the time. The worst of the stories get retracted -- eventually. The worst fakers get fired or reassigned (Dan Rather, Brian Williams, etc.) But there is a steady stream of anonymously sourced stories, presented as "news", only to magically disappear when it becomes obvious that somebody made it up.

A category 4 hurricane just hit the Texas coast and our President still hasn't appointed anyone to head the Department of Homeland Security, FEMA, or any of the agencies that deal with hurricanes.
Today, as he flew off on a golfing trip to Camp David, he was asked if he had a message for the people of Texas. His reply was, "Good luck".

If Trump appointed Brock Long to head Fema you'd be lying.
Oh wait... you are!
And wonder of wonders, Brock is not incompetent!.
Also, Democrats are slowing down the confirmation process so that at the current rate, congress will get through all of Trump's nominations in 11 years (!).
Also also, the senate pulled a parliamentary trick to block Trump recess appointments.
Be sure to blame all of that on Trump!

Re:Jail time for contempt of court
Is that why Chris Mathews had a thrill run up his leg during the Obama inauguration? https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
Obama had the friendliest media coverage in the last 30 plus years. George W. Bush was treated so unfairly by the establishment media that it literally launched Fox news as one of the largest cable news outlets because people (especially conservatives) were so sick of the rampant left wing bias. By any meaningful statistic George W Bush and Trump have both been treated horribly by the press, and Obama had a continuous love fest with the exception of Fox News (who he tried to kick out of the WH news pool and lied to a fedeal judge so he could spy on their reporters like James Rosen). With the exception of Rush Limbaugh and a few other COMMENTATORS with relatively small audiences (not the national news outlets) Bill Clinton got very favorable coverage until he was caught sexually harassing an intern in the white house (and there he earned what he got). Hillary Clinton was caught during the campaign getting questions passed to her ahead of the debate from Donna Brazile of CNN, a clear violation of debate standards, and an unfair advantage for which Brazile was fired. http://www.washingtonexaminer....

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion..."President Trump handles criticism very differently than earlier presidents. For one, reporters who interview him say that he speaks a little too casually, and often is the leak, which does him no favors. The other is that he "hits back" when criticized, even over trivial things."
I agree that Trump hits back every time, no mater how trivial, but I think that is due in large part to what happened with George W. Bush. Bush chose to be classy and didn't "stoop to their level" with the openly hostile media and that ended up with him essentially being constantly pounded by the press who saw it as weakness. Bush was certainly not the best public speaker, but he was also not a blithering idiot, anyone who thinks he was is an idiot and ignorant of historical facts.
"Most kids who survived an American high school know that fighting back against a crowd that's teasing you will only make matters worse."
Apparently Trump learned the same lesson that I did in high school. If you have a crowd that is teasing you, single out the most obnoxious one and beat the piss out of him.
