I never miss a chance to mention my Propeller Arena Fan Site . For those who don't know, Propeller Arena is a 3D aerial deathmatch shooter. It was going to be Sega's last major title for the Dreamcast; it was cancelled, but later - hoorah! - leaked to the net. It's a bit simple, the online mode doesn't work, but it's a lot of fun and replay value nonetheless! If you want to play it (trust me, it kicks ass), try this torrent .

I put up a torrent that will let you run this standalone without installing, as well as run on x64 versions of windows and as far as I know vista. Instructions are included to do it yourself if you don't trust my distro. (=

For those that are curious, the alpha version of Half-life for the Dreamcast managed to escape after the project was cancelled. Yes, there is a torrent. I haven't tried it, but those that did report various sound issues and that the game pauses to load every other room you enter. It's more of a curiosity than a playable game.

popular, new files, such as sunday's episodes of American Dad and Family Guy recieve several thousand downloads in the first 24 hours they're up. Hell, there are 2,000 people connected to the American Dad tracker and 3,500 people connected to the Family Guy tracker right now.

true, people hosting trackers can get taken out somewhat easily since they're easily identifiable. however, there are tens of thousands of them. as much as RIAA and MPAA would like, they can't sue them all. Even they don't have the cash for all the legal fees associated with bringing them all in.

Here is a torrent of season 2 of Penn & Teller: Bullshit, which contains the Recycling episode. Unfortunately I couldn't find a torrent of just that episode. I would really recommend this to everybody. Recycling is wasteful at every step of the way and it's only benefit is that it makes you feel good (but hey, so does smoking).

I've got an experiment for you, slashbot. Place two computer side by side, one running windows (you may have to head over to torrentspy for this one, cheapskate), one running Linux (or some other communist operating system). Attach identical peripherals to each of them. You can use anything: sound card, modem, tv-tuner. Observe what happens.

Microsoft: installs drivers, possibly contacting windows update to download the most current drivers
Linux: Laughs in your pasty fucking face. Emasculates you by turning your hard earned hardware in to a mere decoration.

I've never put up a torrent before, so feel free to mod me down if this doesn't work.

...just what the hell is going on with this?

I realize this is going to suck, posting it on /. when I've finally gotten around to downloading this myself, but here is a link to Batman comics from 1-623 plus the annuals. Comics via torrent are great -- collectors can collect, and still be able to read without opening the seals on their preciouses. Simultaneously, fans can read rare issues without having thousands of dollars.

Let's see what happens to the torrent when /. gets wind of it. The torrent is 6.67 GB!

Alice was definitely one of the best games I've ever played. It was crazy, fun, and extremely well thought out. Honestly, I don't think a movie producer could pick a better game to make a movie out of.

I've been keeping track of the movie for years. I'm glad the idea wasn't just smoke in the wind.

Anyone who hasn't played it should check it out.
