Re:Overreliance
They prove who did what when the bullets fly, keep the police honest,...
Funny how, quite often, there's a sudden mass failure of police body cams and audio recording when there's a situation where the cops may look like criminals. Or, there's suddenly a 'computer problem' that loses all the video/audio and gee, backups? What are those? Sorry, we either A: didn't have the budget to implement backups, give us more money, or B: surprise, there was a sudden system failure that lost just that particular stored evidence but strangely didn't lose any other data on the same server/HDD.
You could file a complaint against the officers in question, but that may not go well for you.

Re:Escalation of Terms to Justify Censorship
Anyone at random is a racist/sexist/white supremacist/nazi/etc if they say so.
It should be noted that we live dangerous times. Now that anyone at random is a "nazi" if they say so and the media is openly promoting the idea that "punching nazis is ok" there can be no other consequence than increase in a political violence. The person who said "the fascists of the future will be the anti-fascists" completely hit the nail when we look what kind of thugs the "antifa" people are. This will not end well.

DTS, The alligators don't like it when you drain the swamp.
Trump is the swamp. More importantly, Trump never liked that term. His cabinet appointments indicate his primary concern is building a wall around the swamp and filling it with sewage. If he cared about draining the swamp, he would start with his own conflicts of interest and he would stop taking money from foreign governments in violation of the emoluments clause. If the GOP cared, they would be attacking him for this instead of lying for him.
So you have shown me very clearly that you have no clue what you're talking about. He can't be the swamp because he was never in Washington nor Government. He is one of us, the people. The governed. The conflict of interest is just more mud slinging. There is none, he handed them all off. The lawyers are all satisfied, at least Obama's were when this came up at Justice. It's fake news. Sorry you were mislead.
I'm so tired of liberals that don't know what a fascist is. They're on the left, not the right...Never mind it's the Nationals SOCIALIST party.
That's because you don't know what the fuck you are talking about. If you were capable of thinking about politics with nuance instead of "socialist is in the name so it must be left derp derp" broad strokes, you would understand that the National Socialist party had a platform of both extreme left and right policies, but most of their leftist campaign promises were empty. Most did not actually care about helping the working man. The primary focus was on nationalism. If you care to understand the term, I suggest you start on wikipedia.
Did you bother to take a look at your own reference? If you did you'd realize I know exactly - "what the fuck" I'm talking about.

This is one of the scariest lies in modern times. First, you are playing the "I am rubber you are glue" game, hoping to completely neutralize the term and its meaning. The party of the neo-nazis is now calling extremely moderate left-wingers nazis constantly in an effort to numb everyone to the effects of being called a nazi.
Hitler may have been a vegetarian animal rights supporter, but he did not believe in the rights of homosexuals or minorities (strong features of Democratic policies), equal rights for all, ease of voting, etc. Only one major party in the US has the support of prominent neo-Nazis and KKK leaders: Trump's GOP.

Re: Giaa to the rescue!
They're different letters. Ö is like the "e" in "bed" said with rounded lips, while O is sort of like "Aw", while Ó is like "Oh"
And the words just long and look alien to you because you don't know the root words, and thus where to split them. Pro tip: because the joining form in Icelandic is usually eignarfall (possessive), try splitting them at common eignarfall endings (-a, -ar, -s, and less commonly -u) into components at least four letters long. So in this case: Eyja.... Fjalla.... Jökull. Which is literally "Of islands", "Of mountains", "Glacier". "Glacier of the Mountains of the Islands". "The islands" in this context being Vestmannaeyjar (the island chain just offshore from it).
If you want to know how to pronounce it, just remember the song...
:) Pro tip for the "ll" sound: put your tongue on the top of your mouth so it blocks all airflow, let pressure build up behind it, then let the air spill out to the sides with a pop. -

Re:Trump needs to fire all internal enemies
The sad thing is that a Nation State did try to influence the American election, but it is most unfortunate that the Nation State guilty of this offense against Americans is America.
Now its quite a broad brush to say that "our government" tried to influence the election, when really it was just certain influential members of it. There is a faction of our government that even thinks that its OK to use the IRS to influence elections, and this factions also has some editorial control over significant portions of the main stream media who are themselves more than eager to allow it.
Sometimes the main stream media makes a mistake and has an actual journalist on. The outcome is not good for the bottom line narrative.
The Democrat party was just wiped out. They didnt just miss the Presidency, and any House/Senate control. They got wiped out in State Houses and Governors Mansions country-wide also. The main stream media is not talking about how the Democrats just got wiped out because the Pelosi's and the Cumming's don't want a party revolution. Most of the survivors are the dirtiest of them all, they are not giving up control of the party, and they have all the influence necessary to make sure of it. -
Vast New Zealand Eradication Plan

I mean, if I'm on a rugby team and I show up for a game and the other team starts doing that shit, I'm forfeiting and going right home.
I'll just hope the headline is misleading and the crazy rugby dudes and the hobbits and shit that live in New Zealand are gonna be alright.

Holy shit! No wonder you bitch about SCRUMM. You're doing it wrong.
Standup meetings shoot take between 5 and 10 minutes; 15 minutes MAX. It is supposed to be a "macro" view -- not a deep dive into the micro-issues. Anything else should be taken "offline."

Re:how about this
This video by Canadian journalist Lauren Southern cites a CBC-Angus Reid Institute poll where 68% of Canadian respondents (as opposed to 53% in the USA) would like to see immigrants do more to fit in to "mainstream society." She goes on to explain how what we are seeing today is not the beautiful melting pot that we have been promised and all desire, but instead we are getting cultural enclaves that are creating a sort of virtual segregation.
It's not that we fear that our neighbours want to kill us, it's that our actual neighbours for the most part reflect the melting pot we were promised. We are a beautiful mixture of cultures and we respect each other just fine. But there are growing parts of the cities that we grew up in that we can't visit any more because no one there speaks either of our country's two official languages. The "fear" comes from the fact that we don't recognize those areas as "Canada" any more. That's not racism or xenophobia, it's asking if the current policy of multiculturalism is the best policy for all involved, including the immigrants themselves. Because what we're getting now is more cultural divide, not the melting pot that all rational people want. From the immigrant's perspective, if you're going to move here does it not stand to reason that you want to embrace what Canada has to offer? Obviously it's a scary experience, being some place so foreign, and therefore living close to people that are more familiar to you is probably insanely appealing. Even beneficial provided that you're with people who have already assimilated, can speak the language and help you find work etc. But ultimately wouldn't you want to join the melting pot and adopt a bit of Canadian culture and figure out how you're going to fit in as a Canadian immigrant, as opposed to a foreigner living in Canada? I think it's perfectly reasonable to ask if our current policies are doing all they can to help immigrants embrace their new lives as Canadians. And for what it's worth: people that want to immigrate because they love this country and what it has to offer are some of the most important people in the world and we should accept them with open arms. They are certainly our biggest ally against our enemies that hate our country. Why welcome them just to alienate them?

Re:Censor all white-nationalist hate speech now
Citation needed.
Every single talk that Milo has given on his tour is up on Youtube in it's entirety. Every single one.
Here I'll help you out
.. please provide a few examples ... I'm sure if he's a "serial outer" who is trans-phobic and wants to promote hate against trans people then you can easily find some examples from any number of his videos. There are only two things that come to mind that even remotely come close to being in the same ballpark as what you describe.
The first are cases where University professors have abused their authority by threatening their students with poor grades for having the wrong political opinions. Here is an example.
And I can think of one example involving a trans student, and in that case Milo's accusation was that this person was not genuinely trans but instead was abusing both the law and University policy by threatening legal action if they did not allow them access to the girl's change-room. For a bit of perspective: my closest friend, former business partner and computer programming mentor came out as a trans woman 2 or 3 years ago and today gets hit on by straight men because she "passes" easily as a woman. A few years ago she was a 240lbs hairy fat guy, and today is ~150lbs and looks like a hot chick. It wasn't easy. The transition was long and arduous but she made the effort to transform herself into the woman that she knew inside that she is. And today other women accept her as female because she makes every effort to live her life as a woman. The person Milo was calling out, from what I remember, was making no attempt to transition. It looked like a guy in a dress and from the point of view of the female students it appeared to be a guy trying to abuse the system to get access to the girl's change-room. Even if we give them every benefit of the doubt and assume that they had not yet began hormone therapy and had just recently decided to transition, it is still inaccurate to call Milo an "outer" as this person had already "outed" themself and created a spectacle by threatening legal action against the University before making any sort of reasonable attempt to transition and become accepted by the other female students as a trans-woman.
If there are other examples that I am missing of "serial outing" then please by all means, they should be easy to find.

Re: Malignant narcissist upset, news at 11.
People in GG don't care if someone labels them as Hitler or worse then isis(both of which the game journos have used), to label people who belong to it. GG was never about the PR battle, which is why their smear campaign failed. If anything, it simply gives us more ammo to show just how shitty these so-called journos actually are. As a kicker, the person who started the "GG is worse then ISIS" was Devin Faracci...who's disappeared after apparently committing a sexual assault. He virtue signaled hard. Another one would be Matt Hickey a journo who wrote hit piece after hit piece on GG full of actual lies. He was forced out by the publication he was writing for, then it came out that he had apparently committed multiple rapes, sex by deception, and so on. That case is still a head of the courts. Leigh Alexander for example was forced out by Gamasutra after her disastrous "gamers are dead" articles and shuffled around from site-to-site, each of which has failed.
If you have time, you can watch one of the original "wtf happened" videos. It'll give you a background on what happened(approx 55min) Or GG in 60 seconds. I haven't touched on the "social justice" backlash against minorities who were in GG either, including their attacks, attempts to dox, and successful harassment of them for daring to tell the white-upper-middle class elitists to fuck off because really, you don't speak for me. Which went on under the "#notyourshield" tag. (approx 6min long). The amount of vitriol spewed by supposed people who support minorities for "walking off the plantation" was nothing short of extraordinary, and showed a lot of people that people in the social justice circles were nothing but closet racists and bigots. This likely one of the big things that started the whole "sjw's = cancer" bits, which has hit mainstream. And they did it all by their own actions.
If you don't care that's great. Other people will do the work on your behalf to stop these shitty people who are trying to create a desert of political correctness from ruining your hobby and my hobby.
The real problem is that these individuals are trying to displace existing things because it hurts their feelings. They demand special concessions, or shoehorning into stories. Attack artists for daring to draw sexy characters and so on. They don't want to make their own stuff, they want to be included in existing stuff and engage in shake-down like behaviors against developers to try and get their stuff included. This isn't any different then the bullshit you see with people like Sharpton demanding companies "kiss the ring" or they'll suddenly have racism problems.

Re:Do the right thing - stand against Trump's bigo
There are the news reports that Trump's 90-day immigration moratorium is aimed at majority-Muslim countries excepting those where he has/had business interests. And also calling it a "Muslim ban". But those narratives don't fit the facts. Here's the list of majority-Muslim countries in descending order of population, plus those with severe civil unrest, and those subject to the moratorium. I'm measuring accuracy by country count. I should really come up with a more sophisticated measure of accuracy, but can't be bothered...
The overlap with his business interests may or may not be a coincidence, that's the problem with his business interests, you can't tell if he's making a decision for personal profit or not.
But this is intended as a Muslim ban, Giuliani is taking credit for the policy saying that Trump asked him for a legal way to do the Muslim ban and that's what they came up with.
The list of countries banned corresponds to a list of countries singled out for extra scrutiny in an omnibus spending bill signed into law by Obama. But it's misleading to say it's Obama's list since the bill was primarily authored by congressional Republicans and if Obama didn't sign it when he did the US would have had another government shutdown.
From a safety concern this is entirely targeted at Muslims and not terrorists since it includes Iran which is the wrong religion.
Iran is a Shia majority country and Islamic terrorism is overwhelmingly confined to a few Sunni sects. It would be like banning immigration from London because you're afraid of the IRA. There is no rational reason to ban Persian immigrants from a safety perspective.

Re:Leave.
There is no way to trace what they did, no way to confirm their methods. Sadly the masses are not equipped to scrutinize the nonsense. [Steve A Morris, 2017-01-11]
You can trace what Hausfather et al. 2017 did by downloading the code they made freely available at bit.ly/2jXSy7G. You can confirm their methods by reading the full paper and following the links at the end which lead to all the data they used. Interested members of the public can read or watch the background they shared.
... they simply don't use 1/3 of the ARGO datasets because its data is "more ambiguous". Translation: "It doesn't fit our needs." [Lonny Eachus, 2017-01-11]
Read the paper to see if Lonny's "translation" is reasonable: "... Two of the three Argo near-SST records assessed, APDRC and H2008, agree well with the buoy-only and satellite-based records and suggest a cool bias in ERSSTv3b during the 2005-2015 period, when sufficient Argo data are available (Fig. 3). The RG2009 series is more ambiguous, with trends that are not significantly different (P > 0.05) from either ERSSTv3b or ERSSTv4.
..."Lonny Eachus is wrong to claim that Hausfather et al. "simply don't use 1/3 of the ARGO datasets" (presumably a reference to RG2009). They used 3 independent Argo near-SST (near sea surface temperature) datasets, and reported the results from all 3 datasets. Anyone who reads the full paper will see that they mention RG2009 a total of 17 times while reporting the results of using that dataset.
... the study's argument is rather weak. ARGO data has best coverage, best instruments. Yet they arbitrarily throw out 1/3 of the ARGO data sets because they don't agree with their preconceptions.
... In sum, it appears that this paper committed the same likely error as Karl et al. That is to say: ignoring arguably better data because it doesn't fit their preconceptions. [Lonny Eachus, 2017-01-11]Wrong. Hausfather et al. didn't "throw out" or "ignore" 1/3 of the Argo datasets. Look at figure 3 (backup). They show the results of all three Argo datasets, including four instances using the RG2009 dataset which Lonny baselessly accuses them of "arbitrarily throwing out" and "ignoring".
Paper: (1) "We constructed our own data set from other data sets." (2) Oops. But we left some out. "(3) "We find MOST of the data we used does not match our new contrived data set. So we will ignore it." [Lonny Eachus, 2017-01-11]
Again, Hausfather et al. didn't "leave out" or "ignore" the RG2009 dataset. Look at figure 4 (backup). They show the results of all 3 Argo datasets, including the RG2009 dataset which Lonny baselessly accuses them of "ignoring".
Figure 4 examines four composite SST records: ERSSTv4, ERSSTv3b, HadSST3, and COBE-SST. These composite SST records are compared to instrumentally homogenous datasets (which just means "from a single type of instrument"): b
