Revolution and NES controllers compared
The thing that worries me about this is that there was a similar controller available for the original NES.
Exactly. In addition to the tilt sensor and the A and B buttons used in the remote position, the Revolution controller has the same +Control Pad, a Button, b Button, Select Button, and Start Button as the NES.

Re:Journalism 101
Um, that Allen Peppers stuff was all discredited....
He has another one too
http://allenpeppersfinal.ytmnd.com/
Now, if you watch it for 1 minute, it reveals the whole thing.
I think the forum/commenter goons all figured the Allen Peppers deal was a hoax anyway a while before the fellow decided to give up his hoax.
So, to the story has been twisted and skewed so many times... who knows the real truth. -
Re:Journalism 101Brian Peppers is a paraplegic man who has had his disfigured photograph sent around the internet as a meme of sorts. He lives in a nursing home and one day allegedly groped one of his nurses (he claims he was trying to get her attention and ripped her skirt). Consequently he was given 5 years probation and is forced to register as a sex offender (the photo in question is his booking/registration mug shot).
Making fun of the handicapped is not the role of an encyclopedia, and screaming 'censorship' when that worthless Wikipedia entry was deleted is shameful.

Buttons, buttons, buttons
For one thing, Sony does not know how to make buttons.
If Sony has trouble making reliable buttons, then why is my PlayStation digital controller still responsive after ten years?
Also the picture is slightly distorted and the color is uneven and always has been.
Are you trying to play your Columbia Tristar Home Video disc on a Sony DVD player connected to a Sony TV through a Sony VCR? The problem here is Macrovision. Blame Sony Pictures for turning it on
;-)I, for one, have no trust whatsoever in Sony products. They are all crap as far as I can tell
So if not PlayStation family, then which platform do you use for same-screen multiplayer video gaming?

Great.
So instead of innovative games offering multifaceted gameplay we get online environments where people can yell at each other. Suck.

Good.It was a good game, but now everyone can move onto creating the next big thing instead of trying to strangle the life out of a title from 2003.
Who didn't see it coming, though? From one of the endings to "We Love Katamari": link

Remember the CBDTPA?
Only in the corporate world [does the dollar matter above all].
For one thing, browser developers need to eat.
More importantly, the corporate world pulls the strings of the government in too many highly developed countries. If Microsoft gets to a certain level of power over the United States government, then Microsoft could make a new "security" (that is, anti-fair-use) feature attractive to publishers in the next version of IE, make the feature exclusive using patent law, anti-circumvention law, or something else, and then con Congress into requiring that feature in web browsers distributed to the public. Remember the proposed CBDTPA and Microsoft's application for a patent on operating system support for the "trusted" computing that would have been required under the CBDTPA?

Pro(prietary software) and con(fidence tricks)
Linux users typically install software through (authenticated) package systems. Ubuntu will for example cry out loud if you install packets that are not "approved" by the Ubuntu organization.
But then Ubuntu will never approve proprietary software. So then you have each publisher of proprietary software, legitimate or otherwise, trying to social-engineer potential users into authorizing said publisher. (And by "social engineer" I mean con.)

Flash is expensive
But you can knock together some pretty fun games in Flash.
No I can't, because I don't have a job. Despite sending my cover letter and resume to local companies, I can't seem to get even an interview. GCC is affordable and Free; Macradobe Flash is neither.

Re:Sony's strategy
Interesting thought.
However, don't forget that the Saturn undercut the Playstation release date and launched early on 5 / 9 / 95... "Saturn Day." Sony was caught completely by surprise. Retailers were caught completely by surprise. The public was taken completely by surprise. They basically jumped ahead of everyone else and launched before anyone was ready to buy or sell the thing.
Unless you were paying daily attention to the gaming press, one day you walked over to the store and the thing you were hyping yourself up for getting in few months was just sitting on the shelf. It was oddly anti-climactic. It felt like it needed this guy.
Nobody was ready for it, and nobody bought it. Having launched early, there wasn't a lot of software for it, and there wasn't going to be much ready until the original release date. All in all, they blew their launch wad without getting much for it.
On a side note, that was more than ten years ago. Damn, I'm getting old. -

Re:Cluefullness for job requirements
none of these jobs that go like this:
Entry level position, must have 5 years experience in .net 2.0, 4 years in perl 6, ....
and so on for an absurd laundry list of arbitrary skils which tell me that the people hiring are either clueless or insane.

A corollary to the "What is Love" question
Since I lack the philosophical education to completely explain what "Love" is (other than a simple chemical addiction from the brain
;) ) I will not attempt to answer that here.
What I will leave you with is a artist's parody of this same query.
Go ponder that for a while. :)

It's not a feature, it's a DEFECT!
I would actually pay more for a Nintendo product if they focused more on quality.
If you claim that Sony has build quality nailed, then think back to all three launches so far: PS1 consoles that had to be turned upside down, PS2 DVD drives that plain old wore out quickly, and the infamous "ninja-disc" PSP video (and the YTMND fad it spawned). Microsoft is no better: the Xbox "dirty disc" black screen, the Xbox 360 overheating, the Xbox 360 being packed so tightly that gently turning the console scratches the disc, and the Windows Operating System (about which little more need be said).
But I can't stand using a product that feels cheap, it bends and twists in your hand if you apply a little pressure and feels empty and made from cheap plastic.
Neither can I; that's part of why I didn't buy a PSP.

Why pot is illegal: contact highs
If society were more open about sexual exploration
Exploration without adequate protection may likely bring babies and immunodeficiency.
and the recreational use of pharmaceuticals
Unlike liquor or tobacco, cannabis allows the smoker to force anybody else to get high by blowing smoke in the victim's face. Getting a "contact high" from secondhand marijuana smoke can make it impossible for one to safely operate a motor vehicle or other heavy machinery.
