This is an outrage!
This is also becoming increasingly common.
London police are using unmarked facial recognition vans right now to identify Christmas shoppers on 17 and 18 December 2018.
Even though Big Brother Watch claims the tech had 100% fail rate since May, UK's London Metropolitan Police are deploying the tech today and tomorrow in three tourist hotspots - Soho, Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square.

Re:the rightwing media self protrait as unreliable
Has London's murder rate overtaken New York's?
New York Murder Rate is Much Higher Than London'sIn March it looked like the London rate was higher, but it seems that several of the murder investigations in London were closed with results that concluded they weren't actually murders (accidental stabbings maybe?). So the final figures for those months actually have London (47) lower than New York (54), and the first six months is even more lopsided (London: 80, New York: 141). In the end, there was a single month (February) in 2018 (so far) where there were more murders in London than New York.

Don't forget about culture problems
After the toxic culture at Google came to light during the Damore incident, why would anyone want to join a company that boos you when you get hired if you're not a SJW darling? You may get paid well but there are so many non hostile workplaces that you would be much happier in. Do you really want to work at a place where people claim they sexually identify as an expansive ornate building, and your employer gives them a microphone?

I'm in Redding, California, and I've always loved hearing the stories of aliens under Mt. Shasta. Once upon a time I came across a couple maps online showing a supposed underground high-speed railway system connecting various bases. There was one directly under Mt. Shasta that was used for uranium mining and storage, and UFO storage. I never believed any of the stories, but it was interesting to hear them. Some light entertainment!

Re:What apology?Oh, there it is.
My fellow redditors,
First of all, I would like to apologise to the members of the reddit community for getting htis site and this sub embroiled in a controversy that should never have happened. I would also like to apologise for the posts made that were racist, bigoted, and anti-Semitic. I am in no way this kind of person, I love and accept people of all walks of life and have done so for my entire life. I am not the person that hte media portrays me to be in real life, I was trolling and posting things to get a reaction from the subs on reddit and never meant any of hte hateful things I said in those posts. I would never support any kind of violence or actions against others simply for what they believe in, their religion, or the lifestyle they choose to have. Nor would I carry out any violence against anyone based upon that or support anyone who did.
As time went on it became an addiction as to how far it could go with the posts that were made. This has been an extreme wake up call to always consider how others may think or feel about what is being said before clicking the submit button anywhere online that an opinion is allowed. Free speech is a right we all have, but it shouldn’t be used in the manner that it was in the posts that were put on this site. Just because you are behind a keyboard doesn’t mean you can’t hurt someone with your words or cause a situation such as this one where a simple meme is misconstrued as a calling for violence.
I do not advocate violence against the press and the meme I posted was in no way advocating that in any way, shape or form. Our first amendment protects the press from things like violence, and we as American citizens should respect that even if the opinions of the press are not in line with our own. The meme was created purely as satire, it was not meant to be a call to violence against CNN or any other news affiliation. I had no idea anyone would take it and put sound to it an dhten have it put up on the President’s Twitter feed. It was a prank, nothing more. What the President’s feed showed was not the original post that was poted here, but loaded up somewhere else and sound added to it then sent out on Twitter. I thought it was the original post that was made and that is why I took credit for it. I have the highest respect for the journalist community and they put their lives on the line every day with the jobs that they do in reporting the news.
The internet and social media is capable of a great many things, and this is an example of the not so great things it can do. Trolling to get a reaction out of people is not the best way to make a point, the way to do it is to present your facts ina manner to convey the message that will not invoke anger. To people who troll on the internet for fun, consider your words and actions conveyed in your message and who it might upset or anger. Put yourself in their shoes before you post it. If you have a problem with trolling it is an addiction just like any other addiction someone can have to something, and don’t be embarrassed to ask for help. Trolling is nothing more than bullying a wide audience. Don’t feed your self-worth based upon inflicting suffering upon others online just because you are behind a keyboard. We as redditors and as Americans are better than this.
So to the members of this community, the site, the media (especially CNN), and anyone offended by the posts, again I apologise. This is one individual that you will not see posting hurtful or hateful things in jest online. This is my last post from this account and I wanted to do it on a positive note and hopefully it will heal the controversy that this all caused. Peace.

Re:Any sufficiently advanced technology...
The culling you talk of being the difference between believers and those that understand. Contrary to marketed belief, belief is not the higher form of humanity bit tied directly back to primitive mind function. Animals do things because they believe they work and are easily trapped when someone who understands that belief manipulates it to their own advantage because the animal can not understand the trap. The more evolved the intellect the more it is based upon understanding and the more it questions everything. People who tend to believe, tend to be extremely disruptive to society as a whole because they can believe anything, no matter how crazy and carry out extremely anti-social activities based upon those beliefs. Although reproduction is heavily tied to belief, which is clearly demonstrated by the religious out breeding others and by their violent and extreme desire to control reproduction and everything associated with it (the more shallowly the belief, the more violence they feel free to use to control reproduction ie Isalm as it currently expresses itself including extreme violence against minors http://metro.co.uk/2017/04/06/... this an extreme example of the publicly accepted violence in those communities).

Re:Yes those emails
Why do you say SJWs aren't a thing? They're in the news every day. Here is a recent example from the UK: http://metro.co.uk/2017/02/21/.... Mr Hero of the Left even said this pretty patronising thing too:
‘This image relates directly to the practice of assaulting black people in America.
‘It is directly threatening of a racist assault, and if I were black and were faced by a wearer I would know just where I stood.’No one but him (a white guy) was offended but the major UK retailer caved just in case a shitstorm ensued. For a t-shirt that had an image that was merely a quote from a TV show that no one was offended by either. If you don't think that's ludicrous then please explain.

Re: Driver's license
The thing is that it isn't illegal, yet I highly doubt that it's a covered peril by your insurance. There is literally no wording in the law and probably not in your insurance policy either that you are not allowed to put a motor on your steering wheel and pedals and make a computer control them. That does mean it IS legal (by definition, in the US at least**, laws can only restrict you from doing things, you're free to do anything else that's not directly infringing on other people's rights) to have a computer drive your car unless there is a law that says otherwise, your insurance however probably covers you as the driver as a peril and the occasional user of your car, a computer is neither so you'd either have to cover it with your insurance like you do your significant other, children or friends that regularly use your car.
Insurance or not, reckless endangerment is illegal. You cannot legally let your trained dog drive the car even though there is literally no wording in the law that says this. Also, at this point in time, it might be difficult to prove a trained dog wouldn't be as good a driver as current self-driving computers.
If your car computer suddenly decided to take over driving for you maybe you have a case, but if you put the keys in the car and "told" the car computer to drive for you and it couldn't do so until you told it, legally, it doesn't seem to be much different than you telling your dog to do the driving for you, even if you are not behind the wheel controlling the car. No actual damage has to occur for reckless endangerment as people who let their 8-yo kids walk to the park unescorted will tell you. In the event that something actually happens, you perhaps could get into criminal negligence territory.
** and legally, driving is a privilege in the US, not a right. Basically since States built, maintained, and enforced road laws, States are able to determine who should be allowed on their roads, not the federal government. If you have your own private road on private property, you can make your own licencing rules.

Your iPhone knows where you are
And has probably been recording your location ever since you got your iPhone. Apple is also not afraid to secretly download this location history from your phone. You know how Google got in trouble with the EU because their Street View cars were also recording wifi hotspot info? Apple did the exact same thing, except instead of paying people to drive Apple cars around, they turned every iPhone owner into an unpaid contractor who would scurry around the globe gathering hotspot location information for them.

Re: You made it, Syrians!
It can be disputed that the EU is bigger than the US, economically. And if you want to talk "groups of countries" rather than actual countries, NAFTA (US, Canada, and Mexico) is bigger than the EU (about $2 trillion larger than the World Bank estimate of the GDP of the US). Or perhaps we should talk APEC (which includes the US and China) which is 2.5 times greater than the EU (with fewer countries, I might add)?
Or is it your position that the EU is effectively one nation, and what used to be countries are now States/Provinces within that new country, so you can look at the EU as one-on-one with the US? Of course, that completely explains why countries like Britain (and France, Italy, Sweden, and the Netherlands potentially looking to join)...

Last December, in a video addressed to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, a veiled woman representing "Muslim mothers" argued that beheading was too humane for the Jordanian pilot. She recommended that al-Kaseasbeh be subjected to a traditional Ottoman method of execution called the Khazouk in which the victim is impaled with a thick spike hammered up his rectum and through the torso. She felt that this would deter other foreign pilots from flying missions against the Islamic State. And we may yet see the Khazouk on Youtube.

So a video will work just fine then? This is a STUPID idea.
Sounds pretty solid to me. What could go wrong? Industry giants like Google are involved. Except maybe. . .
- Just recently, Google released an image detection / sorting feature that tagged people as the incorrect species. Jacky Alciné tweeted "Google, y'all fucked up. My friend's not a gorilla'.
- In 2010, Nikon were accused of releasing a racist camera, as the blink detection feature, upon photographing Asians, would ask: "Did someone just blnk!?"

Re:Look for PC gaming, not mobile
It's alive and kicking on mobile too. Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP started off on iOS before coming to PC a year later. Wayward Souls is another one with graphics that look like something you'd expect from an SNES-era or PS1-era game, yet the folks I've talked to say that it plays like a Demon Souls or Dark Souls game.
If anything, I'd think that pixel art is seeing a major resurgence following the popularity of games with low graphical fidelity like Minecraft and a host of other indie titles that have been introducing a new generation of gamers to the fact that it's all about gameplay, not graphics. When I look through my library of games and the games on my wishlist, games with pixel art have a larger presence now than at any point since the mid-90s.
