Re:Recycling is Too Complicated.
I really like the visual signs used at Google or eBay, which are right behind related bins and show what types of plastics, food etc. can be put in there. Tried to find an example online, but a quick search didn't work - still, https://www.pinterest.com/pin/... is a nice collection of similar examples.
Unfortunately, most places just have a few differently colored or poorly labeled bins for recycling use; and its upto people to take initiative in learning the dos & donts for each. Which inevitably results in many lazy folks just disposing of their paper beverage cups anywhere and mixing them in the plastics bin etc.

>âWho would let a religious majority dictate art in a free society?
Think of it like copyright protection, DC comics is infringing on their brand
AND it could never go the other way, religion could never start using DC comic superheros to spice up Sunday school lessons for kidsI hope the last was in jest as it takes very little time to find that the churches do just that

Re: Use the tution fees from gender studies degree
Then gender studies would be a free degree, if I understand the logic that started this thread. Seems fair.
Really?!? That's great! I already spend hours studying the opposite-sex gender, and now you'll pay for my subscription for PornHub? Cool!!
And if I might be so bold, I'd like to point out some fetish sites. -

Re:SCOTUS
Having plans for a gun is not the same as making a gun for ones own use.
Id you do not have the 3D printing kit - you can still make rifles the same way Kentucky Long Rifles were made. Discover ideas about Plan Drawing
Plan Drawing, in the style of Isaac Haines, 1770 era Lancaster County longrifle, full size drawing with full size color photoIf your state licenses to carry that is not at issue here.
Making a gun for resale is a completely different Many rules still need to be followed.
Neither case impacts the legality of possession of firearms by a felon. A felon can make a firearm and would be in violation as soon as he has all of the parts (or perhaps has assembled them depending on state law).
This lawsuit is going to provide some entertainment, and might help define the box of allowable state regulation better than it has been.

Re:Don't forget to mod C.D.Reimer's other work!!!
Build his "personal brand" which is fucking stupid given the shit he talks about on here sometimes.
You are aware that his personal brand has existed for 10+ years? Author website, Blog 1, Blog 2, Blog 3, Twitter, Tumblr, and Pinterest. And that's the short list!
His posting history here would make him an instant no-hire in my book. (Assuming he had the skills for the position, His personality, transparent lying, and poor judgment would have me emphatically giving him the thumbs down)
Pull your head out of your ass! People who hire Chris the IT guy go to LinkedIn or C.D. Reimer the writer go to his author page. No one goes to Slashdot to hire anyone. Dice no longer owns Slashdot! YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!

Re:Imagine
Russia as a society is very conservative and any new idea is always treated with suspicion. Why is any fad so popular amongst children, because they are children and peer pressure, 'I have one, you don't or I have a better one', drives a lot of childish decision making vis a vie every single collectable bit of trash targeted at minors. So pretty much typical conservative news reporting, from a less intellectual news channel, that obviously seeks market space by being conservative. Now which is the crazier crap reporting, the delusion stuff coming from the station or the delusional stuff coming from New York Times to attack Russia, any excuse, any exaggeration, any lie to attack Russia, lame as fuck.
Spinners a bit late to the party chaps, a fad that is already dying. The only psychological ramification is, the need for stress reduction and pattern repetition and it's mind altering affect. Problem ain't the spinners, the problem is stress in minors and insufficient accessible outlets to release that stress. Don't want them using that idiot device, start making real efforts in school to promote crafting hobbies. Fucking pick some https://au.pinterest.com/explo... and promote them in schools at all levels. Active fucking hands tend to promote inactive minds, well, negatively inactive and the craft produces real rewards and that would work across the globe not just in Russia.
PS promote crafts over inactive spectator sports, it is far more socially sensible as it is far more interactive across the board.

CNN: horray for honesty
Here is an interesting commentary from Forbes about how to find non-fake journalism. The number one item in his list of criteria for how to tell whether a site is legitimate news source: "If a reporter gets facts in a story wrong, will the news outlet investigate a complaint and publish a correction?"
After youtube played the clip you posted, the very next clip loaded was the apology from CNN and the correction. A google search for "Carol Costello Apologizes On Air for CNN Lying About Milwaukee Riot Situation" gives me 95,200 hits.
So, to the contrary. I will cite this next time I am asked for an example of how CNN is NOT fake news.

Re:The perfect name.
That's a good question. They have to make sure this isn't a print where a very large foot slid in mud (this may or may not be obvious to footprint specialists) and that it isn't the diseased or deformed foot of some 1-off, if very large, animal.
Looking at all the large sauropods so far, assuming from the drawings they have examples of how big their feet are, and thus are accurate, this could be freaking huge.
If you look at the biggest known dinosaurs, in the first picture overlaying some, the largest two are of dubious provenance, and their feet aren't even as big as this print.

Re:Not going to happen
Considering some new data, I am thinking strongly of switching to your fist choice.
There is a graph here which data is taken from ice core samples at the link below. There are 13 up/down ice age vs heated CO2 earth cycles in an expanding sine/square wave. We are in the 13th section, at roughly 320ppm CO2. Comparing the other peaks vs our position in the current 1000,000 year cyclic upswing, the earth seems to be experiencing the same temperatures and CO2 levels. We are roughly 10,000 years into the 100,000 year cycle. There was never anything we could have done about it.

Re:3D
Here is what looks like a stereo viewer for printed 3D photos, to show you there are ways to look at the pictures. It dates back to.. 160-year-old.
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/...In high school they made us look at a molecule (complex protein or hormone) with a small metal apparatus on a stand, just like looking into a Nintendo Virtual Boy but unpowered and much smaller. It was cool : you sort of saw the site where some other protein would get, with more clarity and sense of what's going on.
I'm not sure how that's useful for pictures of people and family though. -

Re:Normal women...
> Actually find the male anatomy to be hilarious...
That's normal *employable* women. I'm dealing with the repercussions in the science fiction convention world of offensensitivity run amok. And it's *amazing* how the ones who insist on seminars, and run them, and attend and run "sensitivity" and "empowerment" sessions don't actually seem to be willing to show up for work, put in an 8 hour day. If I see one more 300 pund 5' feminist complaining about how "costumes are not permission" for someone in a a costume like this
https://www.pinterest.com/HalR...
And then, they bitch because men "rub up against them" in subways. Lady, we can't help it, your thighs across 3 seats, not just yours or even mind! Maybe if you stopped attending the seminars and stopped *eating all the food at the party* I'd have more sympathy.

Re:IF true...
I'm not sure what qualifies as "Art", I've never seen a Tattoo that would be worthy of a gallery. Some of them could be used as a bumper stick, and some even good enough for a comic book. Either way, it's never a plausible reason to have it drawn on your skin of the rest of your life.
Here's one I think is art, even though I don't think highly of religion: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/...

Just No
I do not believe in recreational drugs. There is no need for them and I rather want to see less drugs in our society than more. It is never the drugs who break the law, but it is people and they will continue breaking laws, because it did not stop them before. If, theoretically speaking, drug dealing would get punished with the death sentence, would we get rid of drugs and drug dealers pretty fast. If you do not like my opinion then talk to the dad and his son in the following picture. They might agree with the World Health Organization:

Been doing it for a while, like this.
Switching From Sitting To Standing At Your Desk
I started doing that a few weeks ago, and the benefits have been enormous. My setup is nothing fancy, just some props and books to elevate my keyboard and trackball, like this:
I got inspired by Marco Arment's DYI soda-can standing desk. I was struggling for a while thinking "what should I buy, how can do this". Arment's solution is so simple that inspired me to use whatever I had on my desk to put together a solution.
I'm thinking to build something similar with aluminum cans. But I do not drink soda, only beer, and I do not know if a standing desk made out of beer cans would be corporate appropriate
:)Anyways, my sciatica is not bothering me that much anymore since I started working standing. Once in a while I sit down (and I always sit down when I have to read a paper or report.) But I do most of my coding standing. The key part for me was to get a trackball for my set-up, to save elevated real-state.
In addition to the health benefits, I think coding standing helps me focus better. Entirely subjective of course.
Later, I plan to build a wood standing desk for my 5-year old daughter. I hope I can get her into the habit of doing more of her homework standing than sitting.
