Re:I find it unsettling
Roger Stone is indicted for blatantly lying before congress and witness tampering.
That would be fair if the law was applied equally, but when are they going to arrest any Democrat for blatantly lying before Congress about running arms to al-Qaeda and Mexican drug lords, giving $billions to Iran, having the GCHQ spy on the opposing party's candidates, or any of a half dozen other scandals that would have gotten anyone other than America's First Black President impeached and possibly hanged for treason, or "witness tampering" Michael Hastings, FBI Anon, the DNC's "Russian hacker", and several pizzagate investigators and sources?
There has been two years of noise about possible Russian interference in the election because Donald Trump did business with the Russians as part of an FBI sting operation that got a Russian bank sanctioned. When are they going to talk about Qatari interference in the election? Do you remember the "Safe Space" campaign a few years ago or the appearance of "Social Justice" "feminists" who never badmouthed Islam but tried to tell you that Hamas was a feminist group? That was them. Have you heard of Common Core? That was also a Qatari operation by the same people who put Jamal Khashoggi at the Washington Post.

You can, but can you win...
I find it highly unlikely there are any dance moves in existence that are unique, it seems like you could always find "prior form" as it were.
The Carlton Dance it turns out, was after all stolen from Courtney Cox & Eddie Murphy - and I'm sure they saw it somewhere.
P.S. If someone ends up linking to TMZ on Slashdot for relevant information, maybe that's a good indicator the story was not a good fit for the site...

Re:Hashtags Legally Actionable?
I believe fraud was already proven several times:
CNN reported that James Comey would testify he did NOT tell Trump that he wansn't under investigation. The next day Comey, under oath said that he told Trump he was not under investigation several times.
3 CNN "journalists" were forced to resign (read fired) for publishing a false story about a Trump associate that was totally baseless. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/0...
A CNN producer was caught on hidden camera admitting that the Trump Russia scandal was BS: http://www.tmz.com/2017/06/27/...
Van Jones, a former Obama lackey and CNN contributor was also caught on undercover camera admitting the same thing: http://www.washingtontimes.com...
Pretty sure you would win that case plus legal fees plus counter suit damages for frivilous suit from CNN...

He flirts and hits on 10-15 year old girls regularly (often enough that there are multiple tapes of him doing it). He liked walked in on underage teenage girls naked changing and bragged about being the only man allowed to do it on the Howard Stern show. He had his staff try to encourage the underage teenage girls that were naked to flirt with him saying they were more likely to win the contests if they did. He talked about wanting to sleep with teenage girls on the Howard Stern show. In my opinion, that makes him a pedophile.

Re: No concept of Ashley-Madison
Don't worry. If it's Ashley Madison, it's not your wife doing it: there's a lawsuit about that.
-
I am offended over a lot of things.
But I ignore them and let it slide. And frankly, many times it's none of my business anyway - like the religious themed billboards running down I-75 around Tifton,GA. That's their community and I don't have to look at them. And I have no problem with the "Jade" or whatever massage parlor billboards. So, to each his own.
But when people express their offense, it is to get the other person to change their behavior to one's liking. It's a power trip.
For instance, back when Paula Deen made her comments, the folks who expressed the most offense were white people.
Why?
And here is a rational comment by a black chef.
It's one thing when your in a public place - like a restaurant - and someone there is loudly expressing their neo-nazi hate in earshot - it's hard to tune that out. But when you have to go out and look for the offense material in order to be offended (as in this case), I come to the conclusion that it is about control and bullying.
Exclaiming that you are offended about something can be a great politically correct way to bully someone. And I think that is where a lot of social conservatives are coming from when it comes to politically correct speech. When one gets lambasted by a white person for saying "Eskimo" to describe Indians living in Northern Canada or Alaska, I don't think I'm being corrected, but bullied.
But if I as a white guy refers to African-Americans as 'niggers', I expect to be corrected because the African-American community finds that extremely offensive - but not indignantly embarrassed by another white person. But if I insist on using that term, then I would expect to receive the consequences.

Re:That is not doxing
Doxing is what has just happened to Sony Pictures & Entertainment big-time. Variety and The Hollywood Reporter have been reporting on email contents (as I understand the situation, but don't really know first-hand), and SPE have sent lawyers telling Variety, etc. those emails can't be published due to copyright ownership; which is another matter open to debate. We're talking emails between C-level types and million-dollar A-List Hollywood types. The Wikileaks of Hollywood if you will.
Twitter lawyers have even had to weigh in as has been reported in Slashdot (as I recall).
To make matters worse, while the Microsoft mail files were uploaded en masse to sites like Pastebin, all sytsems were wiped at SPE so all their records were lost. SPE has had to request 2nd-parties to photocopy their contracts so Sony could still retain a copy. https://www.tmz.com/2014/12/27...
Here's how bad it's gotten. Sony's files have been wiped clean, and we're told the studio is now calling agents and lawyers who represent Sony big wigs, asking them to make copies of deals and proposed contracts that they can send back.
SPE got Doxed to the maximum extent possible.
What I'd like to know is how many companies STILL want to be a Microsoft Shop(tm), given recent events?

Ballmer Meets w\Donald Sterling as Microsoft Burns
Hey, looks like Donald Sterling's getting a $2 billion dollar Microsoft "severance" package. From TMZ: "Ballmer went to Sterling's Beverly Hills estate Monday at 3 PM, along with Shelly Sterling's lawyer, Pierce O'Donnell
... who brokered the $2 billion deal." -
Re:How safe is it driven within the law?TMZ is reporting a loss of steering fluid was evidenced before the crash, with no skid marks...
The exotic sports car in which Paul Walker violently died, crashed as a result of mechanical failure -- very possibly a steering fluid leak
... this according to sources closely tied to the auto shop where the vehicle was stored and maintained.Sources connected to Always Evolving -- the shop co-owned by Walker and the Porsche driver Roger Rodas -- tell TMZ they saw evidence of a fluid burst and subsequent fluid trail before the skid marks at the accident scene.
The AE sources point to the fact there is a noticeable absence of skid marks until just before the point of impact. They say if Roger had lost control the skid marks would show swerving, but instead the marks were in a straight line. They feel this cements the theory the driver didn't have steering control.
Also suspicious -- the fire spreading so quickly in the front of the car. The sources say flames would be expected in the rear where the engine is
... but fire in the front reinforces their theory of a fluid leak of some sort. -

...that all new superhero movies for the next few years will be tame and mushy, non-provocative, non-political. It's a liability issue. (See point 3 in the lawsuit.)You must be as stupid as the idiot who wants to sue.
Movies have been violent for decades. We all know this is true, and
many actively choose to pay to see such movies. The lawsuit will never
gain traction on the basis that the movie was "too violent".On the other two points of the lawsuit, Holmes' doctors cannot be expected
to "monitor" Holmes, this is the sort of claim only an idiot would even try to make. And finally, who knows whether the exit door was alarmed or not ? And even if it was not,
Holmes could just as easily have entered via the front door of the theater. After all, who
was going to stop Holmes when Holmes was armed ?The lawsuit will be laughed out of court.

You could just get drunk and blab to TMZ.
Players will start having 2 twitter accounts, 1 for friends, 1 for 'fans'.
Or how about you actually punish schools? No more of this "aww, you did something illegal yesterday, we'll just mark all those Ws as Ls". If NCAA actually wanted to stop violations they'd cancel OSU's foot ball season. No vacating 2010 wins. No small fines. Cancel their season. You play 0 games. You get 0 revenue.

Re:Stupid Zuckerberg
What's 10 billion when you already have 50 billion? Still more money than he could spend in his lifetime.
Lol, omfg... ur serious?
I could piss away 50 billion in 3 months. I just sat here and wrote
down the first week and I'm already thru 10 billion... and that's not
even into the investing portion of the spending spree.First day... I'm a car nut, so I'd buy every car on my 'list'. First 10
cars burn up over $20 mil. Probably close to $30 mil if I'm doing a
"i want it now". Actually, this is an *edit*, while I was thinking
about it... just the Ferrari's alone would burn thru $20 million. The remaining list would soak a half bil easily. And that's just cars.
Vehicles... like this one,
http://www.autoblog.com/2006/01/22/gm-futurliner-rewrites-barrett-jackson-record-books-hammers-to/
I would try to buy, he lives about 10mi away...
http://maps.google.com/?&ll=33.609301,-112.199248&spn=0.001087,0.00182&t=h&z=20
$4 mil, gone...First day of vehicles could hit $1 billion, pretty easily.
Second day... boats. cmon. another half billion easy.
Third day... planes. Really? 1 Good one, quarter million.
Gotta get the Marine One quality copter, another $241 million.
I guess I could just buy the old one?

set some of that money aside in an interest bearing
or investment grade account to pay for storage of all
that stuff you just bought.I think I'd run out of money before 45 days... but
90 days is just a comfortable, I'm sure it'd be all gone
by then amount of time. So, whomever thinks, $50 billion is more than someone
could spend (laughably) in a lifetime... doesn't have a lot

Re:It's a scam. He don't need money!
Wait, who paid his bail? Did he pay it? I'm pretty sure Michael Moorer paid it.
I think point 3 is very pertinent. Your hero worship has clouded your judgment. Plus I'd like to see your apology for a few items where he isn't the choir boy with his money as you honor him to be.
It is going to suck for you when you have your "say it ain't so Joe" moment when you find out he's actually not the messiah and he's only out for himself.

Re:I'm surprised nobody has said this yet, but..
In all honesty, I would LOVE to have a good, thorough talk with a fully-believing, intelligent scientologist. No flaming, no yelling, hell, I won't even insult him or his beliefs. I would just like to see if I can understand WHY he follows that religion as opposed to others.
What are your crimes? Did you club a baby seal?
Yeah, that sounds odd but there is a fairly well documented instance where a celebrity Scientologist asked that of a critic whom, to be fair, was wearing a t-shirt that directly attacked their "religion". Most people would call him an idiot and move on, or just walk past, but they began insinuating that he was a criminal and had committed some truly heinous crimes.
I'm not saying you can't have the conversation you wish, but if some idiotic t-shirt can cause that response I can't imagine that there is much hope. Though it isn't something I've seen advertised, it appears that there is a trained response to critics where the practitioners accuse the critic of committing crimes as evidenced by their criticism of Scientology.

Car 54, Where Are You?
This technology would destroy the plots of old TV shows like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Car_54_where_are_you. Hollywood would condemn it.
But we're all too young to have ever seen that TV show . . . aren't we?
On the other hand Hollywood celebrities might like the technology if someone could build scanners that spot police cars. If you read http://www.tmz.com/, you would know that those wacky celebrities always manage to bump into a cop while buying drugs, soliciting teenage whores, beating their spouses, etc.

Double Standard for Jail Time> "The Canadian Motion Picture Distributors Association was disappointed that jail time was not given."
That's a bit rich since the movie industry itself regularly engages in fraud to rip off movie makers and actors. Did you know the author of Forrest Gump didn't make a single cent from the movie, the smash hit My Big Fat Greek Wedding technically made a loss (so the actors were ripped off royalties) and both Rob Schneider and Spielberg and many others have both stolen movie ideas in the past and baulked at paying the creators. So why is camcording a movie a criminal offense publishable by jail but fraud isn't? and in the US why is fraud only ever settled in civil courts without the threat of jail?

Well, there's no real need to flame - all you have to do is look at the chorus of indignation from artists that had their songs ripped off by the Republicans and used ("pirated"?) without permission. Starting with John Hall sending a cease and desist, Van Halen having to say Permission was not sought or granted and the latest spat with Heart That should tell you right away how much commitment there is to protecting intellectual property.

Re:China's Nationalism problem is tremendous.
If you think SE Asians are not still pissed at the Japanese, talk to older Filipinos sometime. You'll get an earful. Of course people in SE Asia are not as emotional about the Japanese in WW2 - other than the Philippines, SE Asia was relatively untouched compared to northeast Asia. Taiwan had already been fully occupied by Japan for 50 years prior to the war, so most of the populace had been pacified and assimilated by then (my Taiwanese in-laws can speak Japanese much better than Taiwanese).
Japan is not just culturally popular in Taiwan. Its culture is a main driving force all over East Asia, without exception. Japan's plan to wait it out has worked the way it was supposed to - the older people who lived through or have heard about the war are dead or are very old. Young people today hold no such grudges, and slurp up Totoro stuffed animals just as well.
I don't see why it's surprising that Chinese and Koreans are still sore about Japan. To this day, Japan's high-ranking officials have paid both personal and state visits to shrines containing memorials to convicted WW2 war criminals. If a German chancellor was to humbly visit Hitler's birthplace, that would certainly be seen as an unspeakable act. If Nazi Germany was in power today, would you also suggest the Jews of the world to "forgive" them as well?
The interesting thing is - the latest round of negative feelings toward Japan was not instigated by the Chinese government (although they certainly didn't work very hard to calm their citizens). Conversely, the Chinese government would rather not stir up any raw feelings because Japan is now a much more integral trading partner. Ironically, it was the freedom of information which let the average Chinese read about these war criminal shrine visits in Japan, or when naive Westerners shoot their mouths off about China.
