Re:Sounds to me...
So, essentially you agree with this quote from bash.org?
I guess it depends on what you want from your computer. If one wants one of those trendy ultra-slim, ultra-tiny netbooks just to show off that he has one of those trendy ultra-slim, ultra-tiny netbooks, I guess he got something wrong. They're ultra-slim and ultra-tiny to make them fit into smaller spaces and be easier to carry. Not to be fashionable.
A computer is first and foremost a tool. Not an accessory. When did men become so fashion-crazed that we need a substitute for a woman's Prada purse?

Re:Waitaminute
Now imagine that same person deciding to release those photos... After the age of consent.. A victim-less crime perhaps? Or VERY BAD?
I'm sorry to disappoint you, but no-one cares about seeing a weenie of a 10 year old splashing in the water. No, really. It's not shameful, it's not offensive, and it just generally shouldn't concern you in the slightest.
Is there a possibility that someone, somewhere, is jerking off to that? Well, sure, you bet - but, apparently, there are people who'd do that to an emu taking a vicious dump. At this point, you should probably just ask yourself if you actually care; and if you're sane, you really shouldn't care at all.

You can't buy one, but if you wink just right, one might follow you home from the bar.
If you are going to rip off a bash.org quote, the least you can do is attribute it.

Re:Still brown...
That reminds me. Some people just have a fixation on a color.
My mom is gonna paint her red car...
wait for it...
you guessed it...
red...Not like her car needs a paint job. And shes not getting the same red color, apparently the red she wants is 2 more notches red than the current red. I didn't realize there was more than 1 kind of red, but hay, I'm a guy.
reminds me of the bash quote:
http://www.bash.org/?914350<Rex> He's a guy, he only sees like 10 colours or something, don't do this to him.
Honestly though, it takes you what? a minute to change the style if you don't like it? I understand its Ubuntu, but skin change? Slow news day much?
-
Re:Tell us your project?
This bash quote is, I think, appropriate:
<glyph> For example - if you came in here asking "how do I use a jackhammer" we might ask "why do you need to use a jackhammer"
<glyph> If the answer to the latter question is "to knock my grandmother's head off to let out the evil spirits that gave her cancer", then maybe the problem is actually unrelated to jackhammersWhen someone comes in with a question like this, it is entirely worth asking what he's actually trying to accomplish - because writing ones and zeros directly to a hard disk platter is the deepest sort of black magic, and there's absolutely no reason why this is the only way to accomplish what he wants to do.

Some things you might keep private
I'm not dumb enough to say anything I want to keep private over a cel phone anyway.
"Hi, lover. Let's get it on tonight. I love it when you {lick my {balls, pussy}, put whipped cream up my butt and eat it back out while you pour hot wax on my nipples and whip me with your sister watching}."

Re:While slightly humorous
And when you go around mocking the people who died doing something stupid, often times you are too busy laughing to know the whole story."
And how would knowing the whole story make her actions any less stupid? Her actions led to her death. Mocking her actions is a good thing-it might encourage others not to do similar things. I'd like to think I would never do anything as stupid as that but if I do, I fully expect to be mocked for it. Because I'd deserve it.
Take the story of the girl jumping in the water after her moped for instance. Now lets say she had a ring worth $100,000 tucked away in the seat. Now the person's actions don't seem so stupid. Granted some people will argue that no amount of money is worth risking your life, but the point still remains. Almost anything can seem "stupid" if you're not looking at every variable in the equation.
That being said, I don't condone stupidity. I am a firm believer in this bash quote.#4753 +(16242)- [X] The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Re:They suck at math too
They also lowered their math standards. From 16MBps to 9.7 MBps is a 40% reduction, not "almost 50%".
It reminds me of this gem from bash.org:
<kyourek> There was a 23% drop in temperature.
<nappyjallapy> That's almost 25%!
<kyourek> ... That was one of the most worthless comments I've ever heard. -

This is ridiculous
I'm starting to get a little scared about all the legislating going on... I mean, seriously, it's alcohol. People don't drink it for the health benefits!
I'm really hoping that in the near future, the US government becomes much more hands-off. We can handle life on our own, really. (Well, most of us can. As for people like this, well... Tough luck to them.)
Failing that, though, can anyone recommend a nice country with good Internet access and a hands-off government? :) -
