Re:stupid Americans...Actually, you can get the stupid cartoon anywhere there's a stupid computer hooked up to the dumb internet!
And some Europeans have less stupid television service than your very basic stupid service! There are people all over Europe that can watch anything the stupid States get and more...
The Universal is here, Here for everyone!

Re:From now on...
That song blows anyway. Perhaps I should write a new Happy Birthday.
Master Shake already beat you to it with Spirit Journey Formation Anniversary.
You can download two versions of it from Adult Swim.

Sure it is.
My PC plays DVDs, downloads from torrents and Usenet (shh!) and legit online streams (bless you Adult Swim!) My PC plays all the PC games and classic console ROMs I need it to. When I have a video card with the proper inputs, the PC displays my real game consoles as well. My last actual television died about four years ago, and I really never found a reason to replace it.
To be fair I'm not much of a fan of modern mainstream television, and the only two series (not counting Adult Swim) I really follow are British ones I can only torrent in until the DVDs make it here to the States, but with mainstream stuff like NBC's "Heroes" following the legit streaming model I can see standard televsions becoming an endangered species fairly soon.
Many areas currently plan to ditch plain old analog broadcasts in favor of digital, and I imagine that signal is really easy to plug into an Internet server rather than a cable company. I'd love to see a cost comparison of what it costs the networks to stream online versus broadcasting on the dwindling airwaves. -
Re:Gore needs to pick sides
It makes sense to me that Gore would push for privatization of space etc. After all if we're all doomed due to Earth's climate problems then there's really only two ways to go.
One is underwater living in habitable, environmentally sound structures transporting between these different underwater cities via large underwater vehicles.
The other would be space. Mars or deep space or something that isn't broke that we don't want or need to fix.
-
Re:It really does work.
Two more: Hell yeah!
The Fix is decent but I'd like to see all the new episodes at the end of each week instead of selected epiodes every so often. I'd gladly drop my cable company and pay a small fee to watch the AS block instead. -
Re:Same story with Cartoon Network
Nostalgia.

And also great ratings. -
Adult Swim
Another network's done a bit of this...
The Cartoon Network's been posting the Adult Swim shows online lately, available 24/7 rather than just Friday night like they had been. There are no commercials. It worked under mplayer for me, using, apparently, WMV9. -
Re:Available the day after?
That's what Adult Swim does. Several days before, actually. And no ads within the streams. I don't watch too much Adult Swim, so I usually just catch Boondocks and Robot Chicken on the site, not watching it when it's on TV. Somehow, I don't think that's what they were going for.
-
Totally misconstrued as...
Pot in every home, Robot Chicken on TV.

Re:How about we explore something closer to home?
What, did you forget about Sealab 2021?
Mailbox head. -
Re:Well...
Adult Swim tried airing a Seth Green show called "Robot Chicken" that is nothing but "concentrated bits of funny" -- little pop culture vignettes between 2 and 60 seconds in length. I didn't like it, but I also don't like "Family Guy's" use of the technique, so I guess I'm not mature enough to handle either show.

Re:Where When
Where are you located?
A side note: your homepage that you have listed is disabled. So I couldn't use that to figure out where you live
If you're in the states and you only get basic cable, you'll have to wait until adult swim starts airing them again. That's a lineup of shows that the Cartoon Network has late at night. I saw the first season a long time ago on there and that's the limit of my exposure to it.
Now, if you're in Canada, you'll have to wait until YTV starts airing it again. They used to have marathons on for this show so let's hope they pick up the second season.
Let us know your location and cable options. If you have really great cable, you might have some of the channels that will sporadically play it. -
Re:Black stripe
Two episodes of Season 2 have been aired. They're showing Season 1 again, so there is apparently some sort of delay in getting more episodes redubbed. Season 1 had 24 episodes and Season 2 appears to have at least 28 (for a total of 52).

I dun bwoke it!From the Robot Chicken/Adult Swim error page:
ERROR
Apparently the Robot Chicken Download Page is not quite working... Nice to know they let their geeks get a laugh too at least.
Please be advised that you almost broke the Internet. Trying to get somewhere? Use the navigation at the top of the page. If you're still having problems, update your browser or your version of Flash. Just stop whatever it is that got you here because it's seriously freaking us out. -
Even worse....
Even worse: e-mails that say "call me."
Or voicemail messages that say "call me."
Hey buddy - you just called me. How about you actually leave a hint as to what you want to talk about?
(But your pet peeve reminds me of the character on Harvey Birdman who is constantly interrupting to ask, "Didja get that thing I sentcha?" Hee.) -
Re:SPOILER ALERT
haha.
i wasn't really trying to compare NGE and Trigun but Trigun was the only anime that popped up in my head when I was thinking of adult swim.
looking at the current shows list on adult swim (http://www.adultswim.com/shows/index.html), the only animes that even come close to the likes of NGE include:
ghost in the shell: stand alone complex
witch hunter robin
wolf's rain
and those 3 aren't really even saying much when compared to NGE, though those 3 above do have their moments.
your depiction of NGE is quite correct. but if you censored those parts, the story just doesn't really flow imo. guess they can just screw it up like what they did with several of the other animes they show on cartoon network. -

Adult Swim Predictions
Apparently he's been watching the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex series on Adult Swim.
In addition to the brain-puter, he has predicted that the future will also have power-hungry bending robots with a penchant for booze, smoking and thievery. -
YEY! Adult swim helps us all out~
I think this is proof that adult entertainment is really evolving. And who do we have to thank for all this wonderfullness? Adult Swim.
They have really shown the world that we want more animation, just like they get in japan. And what better then more episodes of my most favorite show of all time, (besides the simpsons). Seems the quick dissemination of television shows to DVD also really helps show those network borgs just how much we really love a show. Take that Nielsen! -
Re:HDTV? How about HQTV?
At least there's one good thing about switching over to HD soon... Aqua Teen Hunger Force in High Def!

Re:The Rock!
So you want Optimus Prime to save the day by running in slow motion while waving the American Flag?
come to think of it... that might be funny to watch on Robot Chicken. -

Virtools
If your goal is to get a game into reality, Virtools is one good way to do that. You can still code with letters and words if you want to, but the main way you create a game in Virtools is defining behaviors, graphically linking code building blocks together. You'll have to learn how to use it, and I think you'll need a license for a student copy (think it was in the neighborhood of $99-$125 for a student license), but it can be worth it.
Hardcore coders sometimes scoff at Virtools because they see it as somehow less noble to use a middleware tool instead of re-inventing the wheel themselves every time. But you still have to know the logic behind every behavior you define, there's no "Create Game" button you can use. The bonus to Virtools is speed. Our lead programmer can make a small game where you fly a jetpack, swing around on vines through trees, or drive a pretty good rendition of a Halo jeep in about an hour. All through definining a few springs, key controls, and a few other behaviors, and a play space.
Got four months? Here's what we made and had commercially ready in four months thanks in part to Virtools:
http://www.adultswim.com/games/powerplay/sweetmayh em/index.html
Granted, we started that project knowing how to use it. But even with the learning curve you should be able to produce something playable and even pretty good. I'm recommending it because it works for us.
Oh by the way if you want to check it out it's at:

Re:I've never heard of the guy, but
Does anybody else picture "Dr. Orpheus" from the Venture Bros. cartoon when you read about this guy? [
... ]I think that's a disservice to Dr. Orpheus. Sollog just flails incoherently, whereas Orpheus actually delivers the paranormal goods (and has a kick-ass wardrobe as well).
(For those who have no idea what we're talking about, fire up your TiVo or equivalent and start recording The Venture Bros. , part of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim lineup.)

Re:Oh, come on!
Well, I remember before or about the time Mewes went into rehab Smith was concerned. He said at that time that he'd be willing to do another movie with the characters Jay and Silent Bob if that would help give Mewes some incentive.
So, I don't think he's pulling a Lucas and doing it strictly for the money. Although it is nice to be paid.
What would be better is this: Adult Swim should pick up the Clerks cartoon because that was one of the best things ever (even if they couldn't convince Alan Rickman to be the voice of Leonardo Leonardo) and make new episodes. -
A better explanation
Let's see, how can I explain this without blowing your mind? Heisenberg's Uncertainty principle tells us that at a specific curvature of space knowledge can be transferred into energy. Or, and this is key now, matter.
It doesn't?
Well, some people struggle with Heisenberg.
Look, here's a toy. It goes up and down on a string isn't that fun?
This is, of course, all according to Dr. Meatwad -
I'd Go A More Direct To Video Route
Although it might be harder to produce, I'm getting a feeling that Fox shouldn't even bother because they'll just end up abusing whatever timeslot they put the (new) Futurama on by pre-empting football or nascar or some Fox News thingy. They need programming that they deem "throw away" to fill in the gaps and its not going to be The Simpsons or some reality TV show.
I suspect the reasons why these are being disucssed at all are actually two fold. One is clearly the popularity in [adult swim]'s block on Cartoon Network. The other is selling through well on the DVD market.
Fox execs will see CN and the DVD producers (as well as a good penny for Groening and MacFarlane) making a load of cash on both shows and will probably make the same mistake *again*. I don't mind though. In the end that just means more epsiodes for CN and more DVDs. -
here's your flying shark
From the fine gentlemen who brought you "Sealab 2021" and "Space Ghost: Coast to Coast", FLYING SHARK v. FLYING CROCODILE! What more could you want?
-
Re:a defense at last!
A winged crocodile is no match for a shark with a jet pack; to believe otherwise would be like believing in the easter bunny or the tooth fairy; childish and immature.
Everyone knows that a flying shark will beat a flying crocodile every time. The reasons are many:
- It is much harder to take flesh out of something that is torpedo-shaped. i.e. The shark has the oppurnuity to go for the crocodile's legs, tail, and even head, all within one fell chomp. The crocodile will have a hard time fitting his entire maw around the trunk of the shark
- Sharks are naturally more active than crocodiles. If a shark stops swimming, he will die. I don't know about you, but the only time I've seen a crocodile move in real life is when the zookeeper throws beef hearts into their cage
- Sharks are endowed with a "sixth sense," which allows them to sense the presence of other animals - (fish, seals, Roy Scheider) - within their proximity. In practice, this is not unlike radar used by today's most advanced fighter aircraft. Crocodiles lack this ability.
- Jetpack is no match for wings, duh.
As I have clearly demonstrated to you, Flying Crocodiles are clearly inferior to a Flying Shark. Anyway, if I, one of the greatest minds of our epoch, didn't believe that a Flying Shark could kick a Flying Crocodile, would I have gotten this sweet ass tattoo?
/hoping this will get on viewer card night...

Adult Swim has not been editing some shows
They have been showing Blue Gender with minimal editing and FLCL with virtually none (just one word in episode 6).
And let's not forget the latest season of Inuyasha is uncut...gory demon deaths abound...
It is called ADULT Swim after all. -

Home Movies
Who cares, as long as they keep "Home Movies" -- it's the funniest and most enjoyable show on television, hands down. Along with the Daily Show, it's one of the last two reasons I keep cable.

Heh. Adult Swim. Next time are you going to name the server "Master Shake"?!?!?!?! :) -
Seen it...
This is almost a direct rip on Outlaw Star, an Anime series currently running as part of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim Saturday night action lineup. Fuck Firefly.
